1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, LIFE LESSONS LEARNT FROM BLOGGING

So I  received a message from WordPress the other day that My blog Was a year old.Well,  how did  that happen? Is that  what  happens  with  Babies? One  day  they  are  born, the  next  day  they  are  a  year  older? Like  what  is  that?

Anyway, just like any other thing in life, Blogging has quite been the journey, thinking about  it,  it  has  taught me so much lessons  that  apply  hugely  in life generally.

So  here are  the  life  lessons I have taken  from a year of blogging.

  • GOD IS NOT A RESPECTOR OF MAN

See God is not Man, He does not look at your background,Certificates,  mistakes, social status , experience, Numbers,  Financial status or whatever   it is that We men look at.

He says,

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.(Psalms 37:4)

So  whatever  you trust  Him  for, He  is  going  to  give  you   that  and  even   more .

  • JUST START

You see all those Impossibilities , Ignore them and hit the Start button anyway.

  • FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN

Would your rather start that blog, start that business, talk to that girl/boy, Take that  Morning or evening run, climb Mount Everest, Try karaoke  or do whatever scares the skin  out  of   you rather than not trying at all and going  on  with  life wondering what would have happened if you did?

      • CONSISTENCY IS KEY

We like  to start  projects  and  not  finish  because  of  various  factors  but  whatever  your  passion  is , do  you  booboo and  fight  for  what you believe  in  until the  end.

      • THE  CRITICS

Take positive criticism  and  let   them make  you better, take  negative criticism and flash  them down the toilet or throw  them in the gutter, they  belong  there.

      • BE YOUR LOUDEST CHEERLEADER

Unlike external critics, your internal voice at the end of the day will be your deal breaker. It  matters  100% .Make sure what  you  tell  yourself  is  positive , You can not  afford  whispering  negative comments  to yourself. It is too damn expensive.

      • CONFIDENCE GOES A LONG WAY

Someone  else  may   seem   better  in this or  that , but  that  does not make them better  than you. Be confident  in yourself  and what you have to offer, you dont  come across another YOU often now do you?

Superman’s got nothing on you ~ Charlie Puth

      • FEAR  FOR  WHO?

Fear  is real my friend. It is the opposite  of Faith but here’s the thing,

“We were not given the spirit of Fear but of Power, Love and  a sound mind.”

      I have those  fears,

      1. I  could  fall flat on my  face
      2. This company could say no to me
      3. This  other person stands a better chance so I probably  shouldn’t
      4. ” Aliens could attack”

Okay, that last one was random, it  definitely  has  everything to do with the movie “Independence day”

But “that  dont  stop  me” ~ Insert  Queen Latifah’s voice  and  Facial expressions

I  try  and    do it  anyway, whatever you do, Just remember that Courage  is a substitute of  fear, real courage  comes when  you  are  scared as hell but you do it anyway .

      • Every pro was once an amateur

Rome was  not  built  in  a  day , cut yourself  some  slack and give yourself  time to grow and go through those growing  stages without  self  condemnation, being  harsh to yourself  or  comparing  yourself to any other  person .

      • MASTER AND PERFECT YOUR CRAFT

If We  get  too comfortable, We do not  want  to do anything. We do not want  to  do any more  research or  go an extra  mile in  whatever  field.

We do not  want  to  workout  anymore or  eat  those  Vegetables  anymore, or  swear not  to  drink  water  until forever

“Like why is water  so tasteless, shouldn’t they  make  like soda water?”

Why do I have  this  strong  conviction that  I am  describing  myself?  Well, ” I plead guilty as charged. Hands  down!!”

But, all I can  say  is, it  is good  to    be  content with what  you  have  at  the  moment, but  do not  settle  for  less, we  were  all meant  to  do  more  and  to do better

      • DON’T  SPEAK  TOO  SOON

I am not  paranoid  guys, but  that  little project  you  are  working  on , do not spill the  beans just yet!

On an Interview  with  Oprah, Steve  Harvey  said

” Do not  tell your  Big  Ideas  to  small minded  people”

The  reason  that  thing  did  not  work is probably   because  you told  it  to  someone  somewhere  who  did  not  believe  in it  and  went  ahead  and  discouraged  you or  “Evil Spit”  on  it  as  pastor Moris  Oloo would  put  it  and  as  a  result  Jinxed  it.

Be less vocal about  your  ideas  and  if  not, choose who  you  are vocal  about with your  Ideas .Did  I mention that my Ideas  make  my  Mum  cringe, she  is smilling  on the  outside  but  thinks  I am  crazy  on  the  inside, she does not tell me  but  I  can  read  her  mind  ‘haha’

I could  not  stress this  point  enough, if  only  we  could  read  enough. There  is  something  about  reading  and life lessons/ great speech/wisdom/ hidden treasure / writing skills that go hand in hand. So if you could  grab a book or  two every Month then ……oh  well, you  would  be  doing  you  a BIG favour

      • LISTEN MORE

Listening is  also  a  great  plus, people  pay  huge  bucks  of  Money  to  go to  Oprah’s  lifeclass  or to  hear Tony Robbins  speak  or  all this  wise  people  you have  heard  of. Guess what, I get  them  for  free  online, Youtube  to be precise. Well, technically  It is not free because you might  pay for Wifi  or  Internet  bundles and stuff but that is  definitely not  equivalent  to what other  people pay to hear them  live  so why not.  Make yourself  wiser  if  you can.
So there you go, I hope  you picked  a point  or two  on  my  heart  to  heart post that  I hope  to  write  more  of…..or  not.

      Thank you  for  reading
